L is for Late

The view out the window was gorgeous. Kitty had really found a perfect place for her destination wedding. As she looked out the window, Matt came up behind her and kissed her neck.

“Don’t start something you can’t finish,” she teased.

“I plan on finishing,” he laughed. “How much time do we have?”

“We have an extra hour. They had to move the ceremony time because there was another wedding today. Someone messed up and double-booked it, but they got it all figured out. So, let’s have fun before I have to make myself gorgeous for the wedding.”

“As you wish,” he said as he picked her up and put her on the bed. “I could get used to sex with the ocean sounds in the background.”

“Me too, but I’m guessing that unless we win the lottery, we better just enjoy this weekend.”

The end of her sentence was muffled in his kiss. Their lovemaking started slowly, but by the end, Trish needed another shower. “I think maybe I need to start playing the lottery,” she said, lazily stroking his leg. “But now, shower and then socializing,”

As she was coming out of the shower, her phone started blowing up with messages. Looking down at them, she gasped. “Matt! We need to go! It got moved an hour earlier, not later!” She quickly put her hair up, put on a little makeup, and put on her dress.

They ran out on the beach just as the ceremony was starting. Matt sat down as she walked up the aisle with as much bravado as she could muster. She could feel her face and neck flush as the entire group watched.

Kitty looked at her with a disapproving look until she realized that Trish’s hair was still wet. “OMG. You were having sex, weren’t you?” she hissed while she tried to keep a straight face.

“No. We had already finished,” she whispered back.

Kitty shook her head. “Best wedding story ever. Maid of honor almost misses the ceremony because she’s ‘otherwise occupied.’ Can we start the wedding now? Some of us haven’t gotten lucky yet today.”

Trying to keep a straight face, she said, “Let’s do this thing.”
