“What are you doing?” She turned and stared at him in disbelief.
“I’m chopping broccoli, why?”
He laughed. “Fair enough. How about, what are you making?”
She finished another knot. “It’s for the benefit craft fair. I have no idea if anyone still buys macrame, but this is what I know how to make.”
“I like it–and I’m sure someone else will too.”
“Thanks, honey.” She went back to knotting, but he stayed put. “Did you need something?”
“No. I just thought I’d watch. And maybe imagine you using some of those skills later.”
She smirked. “Someone feeling a little kinky today?
“I didn’t start out that way. It’s all your fault.”
“Is it now?”
“You have a lot of skills with your hands. A poor guy is helpless once he watches…”
She burst out laughing. “Well, after I finish, maybe, just maybe, I might practice some knots on you. But there’s going to be a price.”
He looked skeptical. “What price?”
“I will need sustenance. You need to go get lunch from Jake’s and bring it back. I should be finished by the time you get back. And then we can discuss what sort of predicament I can cause for you.”
