J is for Jelly

Her feet hurt and the noise in the enclosed aquarium was getting on her last nerve. They had been planning this date for a month so, of course, it would be the day when the entire place was filled with school field trips.

They passed by the Nemo fish quickly. It was a favorite among the kids and they could barely see over the mass of heads.

The moray eel was also popular. Those were creepy and she was fine not stopping to look at their gaping mouths.

He took her hand and smiled. “I know where we can go.” She obviously hadn’t been hiding her irritation quite as well as she thought she had.

She followed him into a dark room. There were tanks of jellies everywhere, but he kept going. Finally, across the room and behind a small wall was a seating area.

The entire wall was filled with blue jellies. They were gracefully moving up and down and he indicated the bench. “No one can see us since we’ll be behind the wall.”

She sat down and snuggled into his shoulder to watch the show. He kissed her forehead and she sighed. He knew exactly how to save a date.
