M is for Moon

They had been walking along the water for hours and the sun was setting. She stopped to look at the sunset and he wandered ahead.

He stood silhouetted again the horizon and she could see him turn to look at her. She wanted to capture the moment forever, but she knew that a photograph would never do it justice.

She caught up with him and grabbed his hand, wishing she could hold on to this perfect moment as tightly.

The light faded and the waxing moon started to glow in the sky like a beacon. They walked on, holding hands.

The inn was visible in the distance. Maybe this moment was fleeting, but they had so many more moments to share this weekend.

“You ready to go back?” he asked.

“I’m ready to go forward. What is our next adventure?”
