L is for (That) Look

Exhausted from the long day, he pulled out of the parking garage and started home.

At the first red light, he waited impatiently. Then, there she was. That look. That smirk.

He turned on his signal and turned right to follow her. She was almost a block ahead of him and he sped up to keep her in sight.

A car pulled in front of him and he almost missed that she had pulled into a parking lot ahead. He quickly followed.

She was standing beside her car with that look.

“What took you so long?” That smirk.

“I’m here now.”
