The clouds had moved in a bit but we figured we had time for a quick walk after dinner. The sun was starting to go down and it was cooling off a little after a hot desert day.
We walked about a mile up the road, grabbing each other’s ass and playing around while we talked. We turned around to head home since it was starting to get darker.
We had gone about halfway back when, I felt it. “Was that rain?” Snake looked at me and shrugged. “I didn’t feel anything.”
Yup…there was another drop. And, if you have ever been in the desert during a monsoon, it isn’t a light drizzle. The deluge started and we started running for home. There were already huge puddles and cars driving by were not helping at all.
I was dripping and couldn’t see a thing through my hair and I stopped. And started laughing. So hard. Snake came to a dead stop and looked at me like I had lost my mind. I couldn’t stop laughing because we looked like a couple of drowned rats.
My shirt was stuck to me so I just took it off. And tossed it at him. And he started to sing….
“I never knew”
Escape by Rupert Holmes
“That you liked Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain
I started laughing harder and said, “Just don’t ask me to make love in the dunes–there are just way too many places for sand to be that I am not OK with.” And I kissed him, rain dripping down over both of us, cars driving by and hooting out the window.
After we made it home, the rest of the wet clothes got peeled off as we made our way to the bathroom, dripping water and sliding on the damp floor. I turn on the water, step into the shower, smirking. “Time to get started on those pina coladas….after we plan the next escape.”
Cool
wet dreams very cool
Oh lovely – I can see and feel that!
Fabulous. A lot different from my post using the same song! I like yours better.
I love that song and I loved your version. That’s the best part of music. We can go so many directions with it
Very true!
Great fun!
It’s been a long while since I got caught in a deluge. There’s really nothing for it but to make fun. And it sounds like you two had a blast. 🙂
if you’re not into yoga, if you have half a brain…
^Best lyric ever. 😉
🤣 🤣 🤣 It really is
Oh that must have been such a fun moment, getting wet together 🙂

Definitely!
I love the carefree vibe you capture in this post, you sound so well attuned to one another. I hate getting wet (in England rain almost always signals a drop in temperature) but there are some times you shouls just embrace it, as you did!
I love that song and the story it tells – how wonderful that it provided a soundtrack to your ‘scene’.
Thank you! ♥️
Awww, that’s so sweet. And also, that song is in my head now, lol.
