M is for Mouth

“That’s an evil smile.”

I look up. “What?”

“That’s an evil smile,” you repeat.

“Was I smiling?”

“You were. And it was a bit disconcerting.”

“Oh?”

“I always worry about you get that smile on your face.”

“Sometimes my mouth just smiles that way. You are always so suspicious…”

“Mmmhmmm… What were you looking at?”

“When?”

Huffing, you say, “Just then. When you were smiling like that.”

“I was just checking my email.”

“What was in your email?”

“Ads, a delivery notice, some work stuff, news. The usual.”

“Wait. Delivery notice for what?”

“Something I bought.”

“Is this a something that you might be using on me in the near future?”

“It did say it was out for delivery. It says about 3 pm. So, soon.”

“And this is why I always find that smile a bit disconcerting.”

“Loki was trying to look serious, but even so, he was smiling at the corners of his mouth. It was not a reassuring smile.”

  1. I use that smile.
Loki from reading Mr Gaiman’s Norse Tales has become one of my favorites. He is a trickster but like Coyote, I think I like benevolent tricksters who serve jerks their just desserts. (And Loki’s tricks in Thor were quite often deserved. )
Thanks for your story. That was wonderful. I sit here now with a smirk of a smile.
Smile, it makes people wonder what you are up to!

  2. You know, there is this certain smile that a sadist or dominant gets when they are about to or are thinking about playing with the submissive. I find it disconcerting too, well, and intriguingly exciting!

  3. After reading the text, I decided that it was the smile of a person who ordered an interesting toy for adults, and read the message about its imminent delivery. It was a smile of anticipation mixed with pleasure. But perhaps these are just my fantasies.
