About That Hugging

Today’s topic is all about hugging. Sounds a bit cheesy perhaps on the outset, but bear with me. Hugging, for us, is a very versatile thing. Hugging is a calming thing, when things go nutty, a recovery thing after a scene or … correction.

I admit that when we first started doing this thing we do, I thought the whole hugging thing or just holding on for dear life, depending on what’s happened, was not something we needed to worry about. But then came sub-drop. And yeah, Domme-drop too.

To us, it’s a reset in the D/s space – for both of us, I think. It shows we’re still connected, we’re ok, that we’re moving forward into what’s next.

I’ve written before about Charmer’s approach of “I’m not your wife [for a while], I’m your Domme.” The hug is the reset from that.

It’s also a really calming thing – if the world is spinning apart, Charmer has been known to sidle up to me, look me in the eye and grab on. It’ll last longer than I wanted in the moment, and then it passes into “it’s all good” phase – where we get back in sync, where we are slowing things down a bit and re-getting bearings.

I like the hugs and hold she has. At the same time, I don’t like it in some situations. Often, those are the same, and she recognizes it, and I try my best to do the same for her.

It’s a very important connection and you have to stop, be in the moment, and realize that all that (waving arms around like Kermit) isn’t as important as stopping for just a bit. That the person in front of you is THE point of it all right there, right then.

A hug conveys support, trust, caring, and it can mean so much more, too.

So, yeah. Here I am. A huge proponent of hugging it out.
